The East King County Chambers of Commerce Legislative Coalition exists to bring together a unified legislative agenda to serve the best interests of the Eastside business community. The Coalition serves a vast geographic and economic region, and forges consensus on issues that define the region's vitality. This work is done through the collaborative effort and shared resources of member chambers. The EKCCCLC is celebrating its 8th year of presenting a unified business agenda from East King County businesses.
The Coalition represents the following Chambers of Commerce: Bellevue, Issaquah, Kirkland, Mercer Island, Northshore, Redmond, Sammamish, Snoqualmie Valley and Woodinville. We cover five legislative districts (1st, 5th, 41st, 45th and 48th) which include more than 22,000 business and more than 250,000 people.
Our member businesses continue to define the state of the art in their respective industries. They are competing in a global marketplace. In order to remain competitive, the issues raised in the pages that follow must be successfully addressed.
The economic vitality we enjoy must not be taken for granted. At the core of this legislative agenda is a handful of very simple, but vital components of a growing and vibrant economy:
Mobility of employees, customers and products.
Access to a well-educated, highly skilled workforce.
Adequate supply of land for business expansion.
Adequate supply of housing.
Minimal regulatory and tax burdens.
Our positions are general in scope. They are respectfully offered to guide you in your review and development of legislation during the course of the session. In addition, we hope that our agenda will enable you to seek our support for legislation that is constant with our legislative goals and objectives.
