Bellevue is next stop for WSECU
The not-for-profit co-op will open first eastside branch in September

June 8, 2017 (Olympia, WA) – The state’s second largest credit union will open its first Bellevue branch this fall, WSECU has announced.

The Bellevue location will be the institution’s 21st branch. It’s located in the Columbia West building at 155 108th Ave NE, Suite 100, in downtown. The 3,000 square foot branch will operate Mon. through Fri. from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and begin with 3.5 FTEs to serve members. As a full service branch, it will offer new accounts, loans, basic transactions, real estate and investment services by appointment and will have a 24/7 ATM. The location will also provide shared branching capabilities through a nationwide partnership network. This allows members from other participating credit unions to use WSECU location for most basic transactions.

WSECU’s membership has been growing at an average rate of nearly eight percent for the past three years. The city of Bellevue’s own growth and changes, particularly in downtown, made it an attractive new location for the credit union. The cooperative has a core base of members in the area already. Membership with WSECU is open to all residents of the state of Washington.

“We’re absolutely thrilled to be joining the Bellevue community,” said Ann Flannigan, WSECU’s Vice President of Public Relations. “Even as transactions move on-line, branches are an important way we connect with members and serve a community.  People want to know they are banking with a local institution and have a place they can go to when they have questions or issues. We’re bringing a 60-year track record of incredible member service to Bellevue.”

Flannigan added that the credit union’s deep commitment to community and giving back is also a fit for the area. WSECU dedicates four percent of its net income to give back to nonprofits and education institutions.

The branch is undergoing a remodel throughout the summer. The anticipated opening day of service to the public will be Sept. 12, 2017.  Naomi Mahaffey will be the branch manager.

Celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2017, WSECU has grown to serve 235,000 members with 600 employees and more than $2.6 billion in assets. For more information, visit
