On behalf of the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, I want to share the news that our CEO and President, Betty Capestany, will be leaving the organization after 17 years of exemplary leadership. She has accepted a job as the new Pierce County Economic Development Director. It has been an honor and pleasure to work with Betty. She has been a visionary leader and has helped transform our community and the entire eastside region through two challenging economic cycles and unprecedented growth. Today, Bellevue ranks among the most vibrant business communities in the country.
And while she will be missed, Betty leaves the Chamber as a healthy, robust and prosperous organization. We have a talented Board of community leaders, a dedicated staff, and are fortunate to have remarkable future growth opportunities with corporate leaders like Microsoft, Amazon, Costco and other world-class businesses all located here in our backyard.
In the interim, we have a solid transition plan in place. Chamber Business Resource Manager Kim Fredericks will serve as our acting President. Kim has been in leadership with the Chamber for the last 10 years. We have formed a Search Committee and we are well under way with the CEO replacement process.
