Bellevue Chamber Applauds Eastside Priorities in Transportation Package

Transportation,

BELLEVUE – Bellevue Chamber President and CEO Joe Fain released the following statement upon the unveiling of Washington Senate Democrats’ transportation proposal:

“The Bellevue Chamber and City of Bellevue have united behind joint transportation priorities at the state level. We have long advocated for funding for the 405/167 gap, Mountains to Sound Greenway, and East Rail. It is encouraging to see these projects included in the proposal.

“I applaud the leadership of Senator Liias and our Eastside legislators in securing funding for these Chamber-supported projects and look forward to working alongside the legislature to see the completion of these projects.

“Bellevue and the greater Eastside are experiencing unprecedented growth and economic opportunity. But our infrastructure is falling behind and a package of this magnitude is essential to the Puget Sound region and beyond. As someone who helped lead the 2015 transportation package negotiations, I know how critical this moment is. It’s time for both chambers and both parties to reach across the aisle and find the common ground that can get this package across the finish line this session.”
