Rainier Athletes

Rainier Athletes engages the student’s core community of parents, teachers, and coaches — together we holistically support and motivate students to achieve their greatest potential. Rainier Athletes takes a longterm approach — beginning the journey with each family when their Rainier Athlete student is in elementary school and sticking by them through high school graduation.

Once a the student is selected through an identification and application process, each student is paired with a dedicated mentor and Rainier Athletes commits to sponsoring all of the students sports related costs. In Return, each student commits to achieving individualized daily goals in the classroom in the form of "Rainier Athletes Points."

Selected students earn daily "Rainier Athletes Points" in the classroom through the fulfillment of specific academic objectives and participation expectations, supported by parent-teacher communication.Through the point system, participating students “earn” their opportunity to play sports, enabling self-awareness to reinforce positive behaviors and improve on development areas in school, at home, and on the field.

The Rainier Athletes mentors coach that failure is never permanent and that each mistake should be recognized as an opportunity to learn and grow. We focus on developing in our students a “growth mindset” while promoting the courage to dismantle any "fixed mindsets” that limit the student from achieving their true potential.
