Executive Business Roundtable group chats sustainability, moving the grid forward
As our only off-the-record executive get-together, our Executive Business Roundtable attendees heard from local leaders in sustainability last week, including reps from the City of Bellevue, Alaska Airlines, and Earth Finance.
Check out the pics & take a sneak peek at some of the questions asked below!
The Questions:
-
The Trump administration’s return also heralds the return of themes like “drill-baby-drill.” Does this pose a short term hit to the economic viability of alternative energy sources?
-
Generally speaking, how is the City proceeding with EV infrastructure? Do you anticipate further efforts to electrify in 2025?
-
How long until commercial air travel is powered by something other than fossil fuels? Are we anywhere near an electric or bio-fuel powered commercial aircraft?
-
There’s been plenty of reporting lately about the transition to renewable happening slower than the dismantling of traditional energy sources – we’ve already seen examples in California and elsewhere are brownouts at times of high-utilization like during extreme weather events. Is being “sustainable” really “sustainable” when it comes to our growing energy needs in the immediate future?
-
What sustainability buzzwords should we keep an eye out for in 2025, and, more importantly, which ones are real and which are just buzz?
