Brad Miyake, Bellevue’s city manager, announces retirement

5 Things, Advocacy,
After 33 years of service, Bellevue’s city manager Brad Miyake has announced his retirement.

Brad has worked at the city in a multitude of positions — including utilities director, budget manager, and most recently, city manager — and the Chamber is beyond grateful for his dedication to our region.

"Brad’s tenure at the City of Bellevue has been a case study in public service,” said President and CEO, Joe Fain. “While his departure is disappointing, he is leaving the City in a strong position."

"Over the past two years in particular, Brad has recruited a first-class senior leadership team, all of whom are trusted and ready to take over without disruption to the many important initiatives that Brad has led under the Council's direction."

Fain also credited the fact that over 70% of of Bellevue residents feel the City spends their tax dollars responsibly to Brad’s leadership and fiscal responsibility.

“He has the unique ability to be both proactive and innovative, while retaining a keen sense of pragmatism,” said Fain. “Thanks to Brad’s leadership, Bellevue has fostered an environment that is not only friendly to business, but encourages our role in the decision-making process.”

Brad’s last day with the City will be Friday, December 1.

Thanks for everything, Brad!
