January Board Recap: New Faces, big ideas, & a very, very large building
Last month, the Bellevue Chamber Board of Directors gathered for our January board meeting to keep the Chamber moving forward, welcome new leadership, and take a look at what is ahead for the year.
Incoming! New Board Members!
A highlight of the meeting was officially welcoming three new board members into their seats:
-
Sophie Leroy, Dean and Professor, UW Bothell School of Business
-
Lauren Paolini, External and Legislative Affairs, AT&T Services, Inc.
-
Jodie Alberts, State and Local Government Relations, Lenovo (... yes, that Jodie!)
We are beyond excited to have their expertise at the table, and grateful for their willingness to serve our region and our members.
Chamber Ops & What's Next:
The Board covered a few key Chamber updates, including a high-level review of our financials and membership activity, plus organizational updates and upcoming priorities. We also shared an update on our new Vice President of Governmental Affairs, Diana Leo, as she steps into this important role supporting the Chamber’s advocacy work next month.
We previewed several major upcoming events, including the Women’s Leadership Conference and the Eastside Real Estate Symposium, both of which are right around the corner on the Chamber calendar.
A huge thank you to Amazon for hosting us at their BFI4 facility and giving our Board a behind-the-scenes tour of the operation. There is nothing like seeing logistics at full scale to make you appreciate how much coordination it takes to keep the world running.
(Also, we can confirm that none of our board members tried to sneak home in a shipping box. Probably.)
