Dumpling Week Picks: Chamber member stops to add to your list
If your love language is “hot dumplings handed to you on a plate,” we have excellent news. Bellevue Dumpling Week is February 14–24, organized by Visit Bellevue, and it is basically a permission slip to eat your way across the city in the name of “supporting local.”
Dumplings come in every shape, fold, and flavor, and during Dumpling Week, Bellevue restaurants and shops roll out special features that make it easy to try something new, revisit favorites, and celebrate Lunar New Year one delicious bite at a time.
As the Bellevue Chamber, we love anything that spotlights our local food scene and our members. Below are a few Chamber member businesses participating in Dumpling Week, plus what to order when you go.
How Dumpling Week Works:
From Feb. 14–24, participating businesses offer a featured dumpling dish or special product. You can keep it simple with one stop, or go full dumpling crawl. Just remember to wear something with an elastic waistband.
For the full list of participating spots, visit the official Dumpling Week page from Visit Bellevue.
Featured Bellevue Chamber Members & What to Try:
Ascend Prime Steak & Sushi
If you want Dumpling Week with a side of skyline views, Ascend’s feature is Wagyu dumplings, available in the lounge only. Expect big, bright flavors and a very “treat yourself” vibe.
Bellden Cafe
Bellden’s feature is “Dumplins United,” bringing Ukrainian and Chinese dumplings together on one plate. Cozy café energy plus comfort food with a story is a pretty great combo.
Also worth a Bellevue shoutout: Councilwoman Claire Sumadiwirya, who owns Bellden Cafe, has built something that feels very “Bellevue” in the best way: Welcoming, community-minded, and a place you want to linger.
Primo’s
Primo’s is serving Moonlight Gyoza, pan-seared chicken dumplings with a bold black vinegar and chili dip. If you like your dumplings with a little attitude, start here.
Uwajimaya
Team “dumplings at home” gets a win, too. Uwajimaya’s feature is Wei-Chuan assorted dumplings (frozen), which makes it very easy to stock the freezer and keep Dumpling Week going long after your last restaurant stop.
A Simple Dumpling Itinerary (... Because decision fatigue is real.)
-
Daytime stop: Bellden Cafe for a cozy plate and coffee
-
Grab-and-go: Uwajimaya to stock up for easy meals
-
Evening bite: Primo’s for that pan-seared moment
-
Go big: Ascend lounge for the “we deserve nice things” finale
Go Taste Bellevue (& support local!)
Huge thanks to Visit Bellevue for organizing Dumpling Week and continuing to put Bellevue’s culinary scene on the map. If you visit any of these Chamber members, tell them hello from us, and bring a friend who is willing to split dishes. That is what true friendship looks like.
And a quick behind-the-scenes note: We had the opportunity to participate in a dumpling cooking class at Whisk as a fun kickoff to Dumpling Week, and we will be sharing photos in this post. There was a lot of folding, a little laughing, and plenty of appreciation for the people who do this flawlessly every day.
