5 Things You Need to Know This Week: Preliminary Election Results, Veterans Day

5 Things,
1. Morning After: Preliminary Election Results

The jury is still out on many of the key races here in King County, but ballots are being processed as we speak. Voter turnout was low, but alas, take a look at The Seattle Times coverage here, and our leading man Joe Fain's musings from yesterday here.

3. Thank You, Veterans!

There will also be remarks by Senior Officers from USA, USN, and UMC regarding the 250th anniversaries of their respective services, as well as City of Bellevue officials and first responders. To all who served and those who supported them — thank you!

5. Good for You, Sad for Us: Jodie's New Gig

If you are on our Board of Directors you already know, but our advocacy head, Jodie Alberts, is leaving us at the end of the year. (Womp, womp.)

She is taking on an exciting new role, though, as she will be managing Lenovo's North America government relations for the Western U.S., being responsible for six different states.

The good news? Washington is one of them, and she will be joining our Board!

“No one could have built the Chamber’s advocacy program to what it has become better than Jodie," said our President & CEO, Joe Fain. "While she leaves Herculean shoes to fill, she also leaves the organization with a track record of significant success.

"The Chamber has catalogued win after win after win during her tenure, [and] Jodie’s accomplishments for our organization are in no small part a big reason why the Wall Street Journal recently proclaimed that the, 'pendulum has swung to the Eastside'."
