Sophie Leroy

Dr. Sophie Leroy is Professor of Management and Dean of the School of Business at the University of Washington Bothell. She earned her Ph.D. from NYU Stern and previously taught at the University of Minnesota. An internationally recognized scholar, she publishes in top journals and received UW Bothell’s 2024 Distinguished Research Award. She coined the term “attention residue” and studies focus, interruptions, and performance. Dr. Leroy teaches leadership and management courses and has received eight teaching awards since joining UW Bothell in 2014.
