Professional Bio

Mr. Akhror Burkhanov was appointed as the first Consul General of Uzbekistan in the State of Washington in March 2026.
Prior to his current role, he served as the Advisor to Foreign Minister and Press Secretary at the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Mr. Burkhanov in his capacity served as the official representative of the Foreign Ministry and coordinate information policy issues.
Mr. Burkhanov served at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the U.S. in charge of bilateral relations in media, public diplomacy, tourism, education, and healthcare. He was also in charge of bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Brazil. He is a career diplomat and has experience working at the Department for cooperation with the UN and other international organizations, Consolidated Information and Analytical Department, and Information-analytical Center for International Relations.
He has an undergraduate degree in economics from Westminster International University in Tashkent and a graduate degree in development policy from the KDI School of Public Policy and Management.
He is a happy father of three boys.
