Bhanu Gupta

Dr. Bhanu P. Gupta, MD, MSc, is the President and Owner of Seattle Heart, an independent cardiovascular practice focused on using cutting-edge technologies with deep, ethics-focused AI governance to elevate patient care. Seattle Heart offers comprehensive cardiovascular care ranging from genetic counseling to advanced heart failure management and the treatment of complex cardiovascular conditions, including artificial heart support and cardiac transplantation. Prior to moving to Seattle, Dr. Gupta co-founded the heart transplant program at The University of Kansas Health System, guiding it from its first heart transplant to 225 transplants, while serving as the founding Program Director for the Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology Fellowship. In the greater Seattle region, he served as the Northwest Regional Medical Director for Heart Failure and LVAD at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health and as founding Director for Inpatient Cardiology Services. He co-directed the launch of the new Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit on November 4, 2025, and founded a pioneering regional cardiogenic shock program serving the states of Washington and Alaska. Dr. Gupta holds a certification in AI Applications in Healthcare from the MIT Sloan School of Management and is currently pursuing the Chief AI Officer Program at the University of Chicago.
