Professional Bio

I am originally from Taiwan, and graduated as a doctor in medicine from Xiamen University in China, one of the top universities in the country. As an MD in Asia, I trained intensively with a solid academic background in both allopathic, (conventional medicine) and traditional Chinese medicine.

Ever since then, I realized that there are no conditions or diseases that can be fully treated or explained from just one point of view. Our body needs to be seen as a whole, with each part working both individually and together. Because of this, I keep the following statement from my medical textbook deeply in my heart: “Ultimately medicine is to prevent disease and treat patients.” I believe now, however, that many doctors have mistaken this principle.

They provide a lot of prescriptions or supplements that we don’t need, believing this is how to prevent sickness. This couldn’t be further from the truth, we should improve our function from the inside without compromising our health, by giving our bodies extra work trying to eliminate outside substances, because this turns into a burden to our bodies, causing disease.

This is the reason why I am more into Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture. What also makes me different from other practitioners is that I don’t see conditions or diseases only from the eastern or western side, but from both. My treatment plan is comprehensive and based not only on science but on natural and holistic methods.

This brings my patients added benefits such as shorter recovery times. Even though my license in the United States is for Acupuncture, it doesn’t change my approach, diagnosing skills, or the fact that I will always provide what is best for my patients, seeking always to improve their health and well-being.
