Professional Bio
Julie Hsieh, MD is an entrepreneur, arts leader, and civic official with a strong track record in building mission-driven organizations. She is the Founder of the Yuan Ru Art Center, a Bellevue-based art gallery and cultural enterprise that supports artists, curates exhibitions, and hosts educational and community programming that contribute to the region’s creative economy.
Julie brings extensive small-business and professional leadership experience to her work. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Stanford University, her Doctor of Medicine from Baylor College of Medicine, and completed her family medicine residency at the University of California, Irvine. She previously owned and operated a private family medical practice in Bellevue, where she managed clinical operations, led staff, and delivered high-quality, patient-centered care.
In addition to her entrepreneurial work, Julie serves on the Mercer Island City Council, where she applies a practical, collaborative approach to governance and economic development. She believes the arts and creativity are powerful drivers of placemaking, innovation, and small-business growth, and she is committed to strengthening the regional business and cultural ecosystem.
