Professional Bio

Educated around the world as an Air Force brat, traveling with my parents to 36 states and 6 foreign countries by the time I was 18. I hold degrees in Merchandising and Business plus Certificates in Sales, Leadership, Non-Profits, and Chamber of Commerce Executive Training. I am a graduate of the Western Assoc. of Chamber Executives three-year training program
My career started with Fortune 500 company, Estee Lauder, where I quickly moved from a Sales, managing four multi-million-dollar accts. to traveling around California training Clinique sales associates. I went on to work with Yves Saint Laurent and was a VP for Cosophora (Korff, USA) covering the western half of the United States.
After about 12 years in the cosmetic industry, I decided to follow my passion for fashion and start my own manufacturing company – Kathy’s Klothes. In 1999 I sold the company. Two years later I went to a temp agency not knowing what I really wanted to do and was placed at my first Chamber of Commerce. My experiences managing my own company and the disciplines and principals learned working for large corporations gave me the background I need to support others.
Economic vitality, marketing, business forecasts, budgets, continuing education, trouble shooting, watching businesses grow and thrive, working with our elected officials, gaining a deep understanding of our community, developing programs that further our mission, training future leaders, and teaching Boards of Directors how to create Strategic Plans that support their fiduciary responsibilities as well as their missions, are all of the things I love about my role.
Having received many honors and awards over the years, one of my most unique and treasured accomplishments has been: I am one of an elite few to receive the “Lee Iacocca Foundation Award for Dedication to Excellence in Perpetuating an American Automotive Tradition” for creating the Yosemite International Automotive Film Festival.
