Professional Bio
Maria is a licensed architect, LEED Accredited Professional, and an operational strategist in the real estate development sector. She excels in both design and project management and has an in-depth understanding of the entitlement and building processes. She is currently the assistant project director for Basel Capital, a boutique international investment and development firm with offices in both Seattle and Hong Kong.
Maria is an active community member. She serves as an Arts Commissioner in the City of Bellevue, sits on the 4Culture Public Art Advisory Committee, and actively participates as the co-President at her children school's PTA. She has dedicated time in serving others as mentors, advisory members, and most proudly as a volunteer manicurist for the elderly at St Lukes Hospital in NYC while in grad school.
Prior to joining Basel, Maria practiced architecture for over 18+years in various capacities as lead designer, project architect, and manager. Her continuous passion and design aesthetics are fueled and enhanced by having grown up in Hong Kong & Chicago, studied at both the University of Illinois and Columbia University, and informed by her travel ventures to various parts of the world. In June 2018, Maria earned her executive MBA at the Foster School of Business at the University of Washington. In June 2019, she completed ULI's Center for Leadership program. She enjoys applying her design sensibility and business acumen to make the world a better place one building at a time.
