Chamber Analytics — an internal tool of the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce

Effective date: May 12, 2026 · Last updated: May 12, 2026

1. Overview

The Bellevue Chamber of Commerce ("we," "us," or "the Chamber") operates an internal application called Chamber Analytics. This tool helps us measure the performance of the Chamber's own social media content on LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter), so we can communicate more effectively with our members and the Bellevue business community.

This Privacy Policy explains what information Chamber  Analytics accesses through these platforms' Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), how we use it, who can access it, and how long we retain it.

Plainly stated: Chamber Brain Analytics looks only at the performance metrics of social media posts that the Chamber itself publishes. It does not collect personal data about members of the public, does not track individuals across the web, and does not share any of this information with third parties for advertising or any other purpose.

2. Who this policy applies to

This policy applies to:

  • Bellevue Chamber of Commerce staff members and authorized service accounts that use Chamber Analytics internally.
  • Visitors who interact with social media posts published by the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce on LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, or X, to the extent that aggregated, platform-provided performance data about those interactions flows into our analytics.

This policy does not govern your direct use of LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, or X themselves. Each platform maintains its own privacy practices and policies, which we recommend reviewing.

3. Information we access

Chamber Analytics retrieves the following categories of information through official APIs:

3.1 Performance metrics on the Chamber's own content

  • Impressions, reach, and views.
  • Reactions, likes, comments, and shares (aggregate counts).
  • Click-through counts on links posted by the Chamber.
  • Engagement rates and other platform-reported aggregate statistics.
  • Post-level metadata: post ID, scheduled publish time, content type (image, video, link, text).

3.2 Limited account metadata about the Chamber's own pages

  • Page identifiers, page names, and follower counts.
  • Bellevue Chamber of Commerce's organization profile on each platform.

3.3 What we do NOT access

  • We do not access the personal profiles, contact information, demographics, or browsing behavior of individuals who interact with the Chamber's posts.
  • We do not access private messages, direct messages, or any non-public content.
  • We do not access content from any account other than the Chamber's own.
  • We do not use platform pixels, conversion APIs, or any tracking technology that follows users across sites.

4. How we use this information

We use the information described above strictly to:

  • Measure which Chamber posts resonate with our audience.
  • Inform our editorial and content strategy decisions.
  • Generate internal performance reports for Chamber staff and board members.
  • Run A/B tests on content style and topic mix to improve the Chamber's digital communications.

We do not use this information to advertise to, target, profile, or score individuals.

5. Legal basis for processing

For visitors whose interactions with the Chamber's social media content are reflected in aggregate platform-reported metrics: our legal basis is legitimate interest in measuring the performance of our own published communications. Because we work only with aggregate data the platforms expose to a page owner, the impact on individual privacy is minimal.

For Chamber staff and authorized service accounts using the tool: our legal basis is the legitimate operation of our membership organization and the performance of our duties to members.

6. Information sharing and disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade this information. We do not share it with advertisers, data brokers, or any external third party.

The only exceptions are:

  • Internal Chamber use. Aggregate performance summaries may be shared with Chamber staff, the Chamber's Board of Directors, and contracted service providers (such as our website host or analytics consultants) who are bound by confidentiality obligations.
  • Legal compulsion. If required by law, court order, or government request, we will respond as required, and will notify affected parties to the extent legally permitted.

7. Data storage and security

Performance metrics retrieved by Chamber Analytics are stored locally on Chamber-owned computing equipment located in our Bellevue, Washington offices. Data is not transmitted to or stored on cloud services owned by third parties, except for the original source platforms (LinkedIn, Meta, X) from which the data was retrieved.

We use macOS Keychain for credential storage, access tokens are refreshed via standard OAuth 2.0 flows, and all access is restricted to authorized Chamber staff. Network connections from the application use TLS 1.2 or higher.

8. Data retention

Performance metrics are retained for up to twenty-four (24) months on a rolling basis to support year-over-year content strategy analysis. Older data is automatically purged from our local storage.

Aggregate, anonymized summaries (for example, "Our 2025 LinkedIn posts averaged 8% engagement") may be retained longer in internal strategy documents and board reports.

9. Your rights

9.1 General

If you believe that Chamber Analytics has processed information about you that you wish to access, correct, or delete, you may contact us using the details below. Because we work only with aggregate platform-reported metrics on the Chamber's own posts, in most cases there is no individually identifiable record to access, correct, or delete. We will respond to all reasonable requests.

9.2 California residents (CCPA / CPRA)

California residents have the right to know what personal information we have collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of any sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

9.3 European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland (GDPR / UK GDPR)

If you are located in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you have the right to access, correct, delete, and port your personal data, to restrict or object to processing, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

10. Children's privacy

Chamber Analytics is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have inadvertently received such information, we will delete it promptly.

11. International data transfers

The Bellevue Chamber of Commerce is located in the United States. To the extent that performance metrics about posts viewed by individuals outside the United States are transferred to the United States in the course of being delivered to us by LinkedIn, Meta, or X, those platforms are responsible for the lawful basis of the transfer. We do not separately transfer this data internationally.

12. Platform compliance

Our use of platform APIs is governed by:

Chamber Analytics complies with each of these terms.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, if changes are material, post a notice on this page. Continued use of Chamber Analytics after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
