Member Spotlight: Comcast helps bridge the digital divide, donates laptops for Bellevue students

Community, Member News,

Our member and Legacy Leader, Comcast, has made homework a little easier (and a lot more possible) for families across Bellevue by recently donating 100 laptops to the Bellevue School District. The devices were presented by Bellevue Xfinity Retail Store Manager Makenna Strasbaugh to BSD Superintendent Dr. Kelly Aramaki, with a handoff at the Xfinity Retail Store in Factoria and delivery to the District’s Welcome Center.

The Impact:

Bellevue School District works hard to ensure every student has a device, but real life is not always one student per screen. Siblings share, projects overlap, and the occasional laptop decides it has had a long enough career. Comcast’s contribution gives students reliable access to the tools they need for essays, labs, coding assignments, and everything in between.

The result? Fewer bottlenecks at home means more time learning.

We are especially pleased to see the collaboration flow through the Bellevue School District Welcome Center, which supports families as they get connected to the district. The Center’s team understands where the need is most acute and can move quickly to get devices into students’ hands.

To our partners at Comcast and Xfinity, thank you for stepping up for Bellevue students in a practical and meaningful way! This is corporate citizenship done right, and a reminder that when businesses and schools work together, students benefit.
