5 Things You Need to Know This Week: King Country Executive Forum, Tax Rundown
1. Last Chance: Eastside Leadership Conference is TOMORROW!
Name tags have been printed, our keynote is on a flight out West, and we are putting the final touches on tomorrow's ELC programming. Despite being sold out for weeks, we had a few spots open up! Register ASAP to snag a seat for the conference.
Microsoft Conference Center (Redmond - Building 33)
Check out the agenda here, meet the speakers here, and we can't wait to see you bright-and-early in Redmond.
2. Message from the CEO: It's a (Tax) Party
Heads up: As of 12:01 a.m. this morning, Washington launched a tax blitzkrieg on services, businesses, and your streaming habit. If you thought “no sales tax on services” was safe, think again. Using this link, check out your cheat sheet (and mild rant) about what changes you really need to know, straight from our CEO's desk.
3. Member Spotlight: Comcast & BSD Bridge the Digital Divide
Bellevue Chamber member and Legacy Leader, Comcast, has made homework a little easier (and a lot more possible) for families across Bellevue by recently donating 100 laptops to the Bellevue School District. The devices were presented by Bellevue Xfinity Retail Store
Manager Makenna Strasbaugh to BSD Superintendent Dr. Kelly Aramaki, with a handoff at the Xfinity Retail Store in Factoria and delivery to the District’s Welcome Center.
Read our blog here, take a look at the School District's reporting here, and S/O to Comcast for stepping up for Bellevue students in a practical and meaningful way!
4. Chamber Lunch: King County Executive Forum
We hosted the Bellevue City Council candidates a few weeks ago — watch the video recording here if you missed it — and for October, we are taking things to the County level.
11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. @ W Bellevue
At this next Chamber Lunch, we'll get down and dirty with the KC Exec candidates Claudia Balducci and Girmay Zahilay to find out who is the best-suited for the gig. Register now to reserve your spot!
5. Coming Soon: Community Court
The King County District Court, City of Bellevue, and the King County Library System’s Bellevue Library are collaborating to implement a community court in Bellevue, with the three agencies holding a grand opening for the court on Tuesday, October 7 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the Bellevue Library.
Learn more about the Community Court program here, and get the deets for the grand opening event here.
